Get Paid To Shop This Holiday Season

DENVER (CBS4) - As the holiday shopping season gears up, imagine getting paid to buy what you like.

4 On Your Side Money Saver Suzanne McCarroll found smartphone apps and websites that reward consumers for posting purchases online.

Amy Pollutro is earning money by shopping and posting what she likes.

"It's really fun because my friends can see what I'm buying basically in real time and if they like it too they can purchase it too right from the site," Pollutro said.

That allows Pollutro to make money from a website called beso.com. Every time a friend clicks on a link, Pollutro gets some quick cash.

Lindsey Michelle is a lawyer by day and fashion blogger by night. She gets paid when someone buys an outfit she's posted on pose.com.

"Usually in the morning, right when I get up, I post something," Michelle said.

Danielle Morrill of refer.ly.com says shoppers can also make money on her website.

"So you buy a new pair of shoes, you tell someone else about it with refer.ly.com, and they buy the same pair of shoes, and you get between 5 to 10 percent sales commission," Morrill said.

The list of merchants participating in "pay-to-shop" is long.

"Marcy's, Target, Walmart, Amazon, Zappos, Nordstrom," Morrill said.

The trendy types say it's also really fun.

"It's more for the love of what you're doing and sharing your ideas and your inspirations with your people," Pollutro said.
