Angry Skunk Blamed For Television Outage

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - An angry skunk is being blamed for a transmitter outage at a southern Colorado television station.

Officials at Fox 21 News and SOCO CW said Monday on their Facebook page that the animal apparently got burned by equipment and retaliated by releasing his spray, soaking the transmitter and causing a breaker to trip.

The outage started Sunday night and affected viewers using Dish, Direct TV and antennas. Comcast users were not affected.

Programming resumed about 8 p.m. Monday.

The station said the animal broke a tube that sprang a leak, forcing workers to dry out the transmitter.
