Widow Of Man Who Killed Limon Officer Sentenced
HUGO, Colo. (AP) — The widow of a man who killed a Limon police officer has been sentenced to 19 months in jail, plus three years of parole, for her role in the officer's death.
With credit for time served, Jackie Hasty won't spend any more time behind bars under the sentence handed down Monday.
Officers had gone to her home on March 9, 2011, to arrest Dennis Hasty on an out-of-state fugitive warrant. Prosecutors say Jackie Hasty had told officers her husband wasn't there and failed to warn them he was in a back room with a gun, endangering the officers.
After officers entered the home, Dennis Hasty shot and killed officer Jay Sheridan. Dennis Hasty killed himself after a four-hour standoff.
Jackie Hasty pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter earlier this month.
