Wing In CU Building Evacuated After Mysterious Odor

BOULDER, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - The chemical wing of the Engineering Center at the University of Colorado in Boulder had to be evacuated Monday afternoon to investigate a mysterious odor.

Firefighters confirmed the odor just before 5 p.m. and requested that the Boulder Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team respond.

The building's wing was evacuated as a precaution and CU Emergency Management sent an emergency text alert to students, faculty and staff, notifying them of the full closure.

Officials weren't able to identify the source of the odor and while trying to locate it the odor dissipated.

About 200 people were evacuated. Nobody else was injured.
