Colorado Voters Rush To Meet Registration Deadline

DENVER (AP) - The Colorado secretary of state's office says traffic volume on its website has been high, with residents scrambling to register in time for the November election.

Political parties were reminding Colorado voters Tuesday of the midnight deadline.

At one point, a page with voter registration information on the secretary of state's website said Tuesday, "We regret that we have experienced intermittent technical difficulties with online voter registration."

The secretary of state's office in September launched a television, radio, print and online campaign to encourage people in Colorado to register. Secretary of State Scott Gessler is scheduled to discuss the final tally of registered voters Wednesday.
