Boulder Judge Sentences Driver In Last Spring's Vehicular Assault Case
LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - A Longmont man has been sentenced for slamming his pickup into eight cars last spring in Boulder.
Police say Sean Marino crashed into the cars in March after smoking marijuana and reaching speeds of up to 90 mph.
Before the crash, Marino was also told by a doctor not to drive because he was having problems with seizures.
Many of the 20 people involved were seriously injured, including a child.
Witnesses said Marino's truck hit a vehicle on Cedar Avenue at one point and smashed into four vehicles from behind while they were stopped at a red light in what was the most drastic or several collisions. Nine vehicles in all were damaged or involved in some way.
On Friday a judge sentenced Marino to two years of work release and five years of supervised probation. He had already pleaded guilty to vehicular assault.
