Obama Senior Advisor Robert Gibbs Says Debate Has A Good Format

DENVER (CBS4) - There may be a lot riding on the first of three debates between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

Wednesday's debate is the one covering domestic policy, and it could hold the toughest questions. Why isn't the economy doing better? Republicans and Democrats have been lining up trying to create low expectations of their candidates so they can call the first debate a win.

CBS4's Alan Gionet talked with Obama Senior Advisor Robert Gibbs about winning the debate.

"The president views this as a conversation with the people of Colorado and the people throughout America," Gibbs said. "I think, quite frankly, is they're going to grade this less like a boxing match and take a long view of what the candidates have to say."
