Fireworks In The Fall: Many Communities Will Stage Celebrations

DENVER (CBS4) - After a disappointing summer for fireworks lovers across the state, many Coloradans might not be aware that there are some celebrations coming up where they can get their fix.

Independence Day fireworks shows were canceled for all but a few towns because of the extreme fire danger early in the summer, and some communities announced they would shoot off their fireworks at later dates.

Highlands Ranch, Frisco Castle Rock, Black Hawk and the Reunion area of Commerce City are all holding celebrations with fireworks this fall that were rescheduled after their 4th of July fireworks were canceled.

Highlands Ranch will stage a fireworks show as part of their Octoberfest on Saturday, the first official full day of fall. Fireworks will go off at 9:30 p.m. LINK: Highlands Ranch Fireworks Info

Frisco will hold fireworks at 7:15 p.m. at the Frisco Marina as part of its Autumn Spectacular event. LINK: townoffrisco.com

Catle Rock's celebration will take place on Nov. 17 as part of their Starlighting celebration.

Black Hawk's Boomtown celebration will take place on Oct. 6. LINK: cityofblackhawk.org

The Reunion area of Commerce City plans to set of fireworks as part of a Halloween celebration on Oct. 27. The fireworks will start at 7:30 p.m.

There will also be celebrations with fall fireworks in Golden, Fort Collins and at Coors Field.

Coors Field will have fireworks on Friday night after the Rockies game against the Diamondbacks. The game starts at 6:10 p.m.

Fireworks will be seen in the skies above Golden as part of the Colorado School of Mines homecoming. They will be set off at 8 p.m. at Intramural Field.

Colorado State University will stage fireworks displays as part of its Homecoming celebration on Oct. 5.
