Vestas To Lay Off More Colorado Employees

PUEBLO, Colo. (CBS4) - More layoffs are on the way for the wind turbine company Vestas.

CBS4's news partners at the Denver Business Journal report the company plans to lay off three percent of its North American staff. That will include some layoffs at its wind turbine plant in Pueblo.

The company's announcement did not say how many of the 400 workers in Pueblo are being let go, but it did refer to uncertainty over whether Congress will extend a wind power tax credit as one reason for the layoffs.

Vestas' statement did not refer to staff at its three other plants in Colorado.
