Man Guilty Of Cruelty To Animals Fails To Appear For Sentencing

DENVER (CBS4) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a man guilty of cruelty to animals who failed to show up for sentencing.

Corey Haveman, 33, was scheduled to appear for sentencing Monday for neglect and mistreatment of his two Irish Setters, but didn't show up.

Haveman pleaded guilty to the charges and was scheduled to be sentenced to 60 days in jail as part of the guilty plea.

Lynn Kimbrough with the Denver District Attorney's Office said in December of 2010, two Irish Setters were removed from Haveman's home in LoDo. One later died from malnutrition and the other took months to recover.
