Construction Begins On New Student Housing At Auraria Campus

DENVER (CBS4)- More housing options will soon be available for students taking classes at the Auraria Campus in Denver.

Construction on The Villas at Regency got under way Friday.

The complex offers dorm style living for student at the University of Colorado Denver, Metro State and the Auraria Campus.

The building is an addition to the Regency Student Housing and will have room for 360 students.

"Now we offer students the opportunity to live in downtown Denver, to live affordability and be where the action is while living in a dorm style environment," said Central Street Capital spokeswoman Angelique Moyer.

The complex will also house a fitness center, swimming pool and bowling alley for students.

The dorms will open in time for the fall semester 2013.
