The semi was hauling a horse trailer with livestock. The driver, Michel Martin, 37 of Louisiana, pulled over about one half mile from the accident and is cooperating with authorities in the investigation. He was not injured. Charges are pending against Martin.

"My heart goes out to him and his family too," truck driver Bruce Ellis said. "It's devastating. There's a good chance that he won't be able to drive again because of his own insides."

The right lane of westbound I-70 had to be closed for the investigation.
