Cheetah Twins Make Denver Zoo Their New Home

DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Zoo is showing off two very special spotted twins.

Marvin and Mojo have just arrived from a conservation center in Ohio. They were born at The Wild in October 2010 meaning they are almost but not quite full grown.

They were moved to Denver to make room for two male cheetahs who are not part of the current breeding program.

They are African cheetahs -- the fastest land animals able to run up to 70 miles an hour over short distances.

They rely on their speed -- not strength -- to kill their prey. Because they are smaller than the other large predators living in the same natural habitat, they frequently lose their kills to larger animals like lions and leopards.

You can see them at the zoo.
