Woman Who Fell At Red Rocks On Friday Dies

DENVER (CBS4) - A woman from Louisiana has died after falling at Red Rocks Friday night.

Sheriff's deputies say Alicia Brauer, 27, was climbing outside the amphitheater when she fell. It happened during a performance for the band Ghostland Observatory.

It took nearly an hour to find Brauer.

"We had several reports of different locations within this ravine where she could be located and the bottom of the ravine was covered with vegetation," Mike Berg with West Metro Fire said. "Our search was hampered by dark and by multiple reports at multiple locations."

Last summer a 20-year-old woman died falling from on top the rocks. The formations around the popular park are clearly marked off limits.

"It's an on-going issue and I think the bottom line is people have a responsibility to comply with that law," Berg said.

Last September several people were injured at a concert when they were hit by rocks supposedly loosened by someone crossing the no-hiking line.
