KUNC, which provides public radio to listeners in much of Northern Colorado, was knocked off the air Sunday because of the fire, according to their website.READ MORE: 1 Killed In Tanker Truck Crash On Highway 285 Near Morrison, NB Lanes Closed
“We are sad to report that our main transmitter site at Buckhorn Mountain is threatened by the High Park Fire. KUNC is currently off the air on our main frequency 91.5 FM.”
By Monday afternoon the radio station had restored a lower-power signal at their main frequency but it wasn’t stretching as far across the state as their normal setup.
