Homeowners Sizing Up Damage After Severe Storms

DENVER (CBS4)- Homeowners across the Denver metro area are sizing up damage to homes, cars and yards from Wednesday night's severe storms.

"All of a sudden I heard tons of water, like a water fall," said homeowner Nicole Selders.

When she looked down her stairs she saw three feet of water and her family photos, among other treasures, were floating.

"Baby pictures, couch, brand new TV," said Selders.

Her basement is a soggy mess after the water pushed through a basement window.

Crews have already started working on repairs while Selders tries to dry out and preserve decades of photos and family history.

"I've been crying all morning, that's why I look like this," said Selders.

Another homeowner, John Wyatt of Castle Rock, saw golf ball sized hail in his yard. He's already filed an insurance claim for damage to his trees and roof.
