Romney Finally Picks Up Colorado GOP Endorsements

DENVER (AP) - Republican Mitt Romney finally has the endorsement of Colorado's state GOP leaders, now that his nomination for president is a mathematical certainty.

State Republican Chairman Ryan Call announced he will endorse Romney at the presidential convention this summer in Tampa, Fla. Call says Romney also has the backing of two Republican National Committee members who, like Call, are free to choose any presidential candidate on ballots.

Colorado has 33 remaining convention delegates, and many of them have not yet backed Romney. But according to an Associated Press count, Romney clinched the nomination Tuesday when he won the Texas GOP primary. Romney has passed the 1,144 delegates needed to win.

Republican Rick Santorum won Colorado's presidential caucuses in February. But Santorum has since dropped out of the race.
