More Drivers Hitting Road This Memorial Day Weekend

DENVER (CBS4)- There will be more drivers hitting the road for the Memorial Day weekend compared to last year but they won't be going as far this year.

The reason is higher gas prices.

Still, most will travel by car, 90 percent of travelers will hit the road while 10 percent will travel by plane or another mode of transportation.

Triple A said 2.7 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles or more from home.

If you are planning a trip, the worst time for your return drive is expected between 2 and 6 p.m. Monday, which is Memorial Day.
