Occupy Denver Plans March In Support Of May Day
DENVER (AP) - Occupy Denver supporters are rallying in solidarity with May Day marchers calling for workers' rights around the world.
More than 100 people gathered near the capitol on Tuesday with plans to march, hold teach-ins and host musical performances. Supporters of the anti-Wall Street movement also planned to gather in Fort Collins.
Occupy Denver is also asking supporters to participate in an outdoor "slumber party" later in the day to protest a proposed ban on unauthorized camping in Denver. The proposal is aimed at reducing the number of homeless people sleeping on the streets.
Other Occupy movements across the country along with protests around the world from Manila to Madrid are protesting for workers' rights, higher wages and a solution to record unemployment rates.
