Former Colorado Springs Officer To Be Retried In Sex Case

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A judge says a former Colorado Springs police officer will be retried on charges alleging he inappropriately touched 22 adolescent boys.

A jury convicted Joshua Carrier last month of 21 counts related to child pornography and acquitted him on 36 counts of inappropriately touching boys. It deadlocked on 150 more counts.

A judge decided Tuesday that Carrier will be retried Sept. 18 on the unresolved counts. Carrier will be held in custody until then.

He won't be sentenced until after the second trial.

Carrier was a volunteer wrestling coach at Horace Mann Middle School, where he worked as a resource officer.
