Arvada Police Want Help Locating Missing Teen

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Arvada police would like the public's help locating a missing woman.

Sgt. Michelle Moriarty with Arvada police said Christine Harvey, 19, is developmentally disabled. She lives near the 6200 block of Wolff Street and was reported missing late Friday night.

"She's believed to have walked away from home and still may be on foot," Moriarty said in a statement.

Harvey's parents thought she walked to a nearby park to cool off after getting upset about her artwork. Her family says she usually goes to the park when she's upset, but typically is only gone for a few hours.

"She doesn't have any skills as far as riding a bus or transportation anywhere," Harvey's mother Jerilyn Harvey said. "She doesn't have many friends."

"She's developmentally delayed to the extent that she's probably emotionally 12 or 13," Harvey's father Bill Harvey said. "It would make it easy for a predator to take advantage of her. I pray to God that's not what it is."

Police used a bloodhound in the search Saturday afternoon. For now they don't suspect foul play.

Harvey was wearing black pants and either a pink or blue shirt. She is a white female, 5-foot-2 to -5-foot-4, has long blonde hair, blue eyes and weighs 130 to 140 pounds.

"If somebody did take advantage; I don't even want to think about that," Bill Harvey said.

Anyone who has seen Harvey should call the Arvada Police Department at (720) 898-6900.
