Lower North Fork Fire Remains 15 Percent Contained

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Lower North Fork Fire remains 15 percent contained Thursday morning and has burned through about 4,100 acres.

Dan Hatlestad with the Jefferson County Incident Management Team said fire crews are expanding perimeters on Thursday and expect more containment by the end of the day.

Fire officials say it's a top priority to get evacuated people back in their homes.

The owners of all 27 homes destroyed in the fire have been notified. They were escorted to see the damage on Wednesday.

Heavy air tankers will be back out to drop water on hotspots.

The urban search and rescue team will also expand their search for a missing woman. Two people died in the fire and at least 27 homes were destroyed.

Gov. John Hickenlooper will also tour the area sometime after 11 a.m. on Thursday.
