Aurora Police To Hold Another Child Seat Safety Checkup Event

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora police have invited the public to take advantage of a free child seat checkup event.

Parents and caregivers are urged to have their children's car seats checked.

"Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available to inspect car seats and provide hands-on advice free of charge," Officer Frank Fania said in a statement.

Crashes are the leading cause of death for children from 3 to 14 years old.

"Ensure that you are doing everything possible to protect your child," Fania said.

Those who are unable to attend the event can make an appointment with Aurora police at a later date to have child car seats inspected by calling (303) 739-6423.
