FlyinAway Website Geared To Denver Travelers

DENVER (CBS4)- A new website specifically designed for travelers from Denver launched just 10 days ago.

The website, FlyinAway.com, was started by two former airline guys who wanted to offer good fares to Denver travelers. It may have the cheap airfare you're looking for -- but your choices are limited.

"Right now there is Denver to San Francisco and you complete your trip between March 15 and April 13," said flyinaway.com co-founder Eric Lanier.

This is how it works: bid on a specific fare. There is a clock to keep track of when the bidding window will close. There's also a section to see who is trying to outbid and what that bid is.

4 On Your Side Money Saver Suzanne McCarroll found a round trip ticket to San Francisco for $54 each way. Watch her entire report below.

"We just booked a gentleman yesterday. actually, Denver to Phoenix, two tickets, round trip, for $101," said Lanier.

Travelers are mixed on whether they like the idea of bidding for a trip.

"I'm always trying to look for a cheaper flight, you can travel more that way," said one traveler at Denver International Airport.

"If you want to be a bargain shopper, biding is a viable option. I'm not much for going in on a bidding war," said another traveler at DIA.

When the auction is up, bidders receive an email alert as to whether the bid was accepted. That's when payment is exchanged and a credit card number is provided.

Upcoming auctions are from Denver to Salt Lake City and Denver to Seattle.

There is a $3.99 monthly fee to join the website. Since the website is so new, the number of trips is limited.
