United Plane Searched At DIA After Bomb Threat

DENVER (CBS4) - A plane at Denver International Airport was searched Thursday morning after a bomb threat.

United Airlines Flight 869 had been scheduled to depart from DIA at 8:10 a.m. and the destination was San Francisco. Transportation Security Administration officials said there was a "non-specific telephone threat" at 7:30 a.m. about the plane

Just before 10 a.m. officials at DIA and with the TSA said passengers had not yet boarded the plane when the threat came in. Earlier TSA officials told news agencies that passengers evacuated the plane.

After the threat the plane was moved to a non-disclosed location. TSA officials said the plane was swept by canine units and safety agents and no threat was discovered.

"The aircraft was swept with negative findings," TSA officials wrote.

Passengers were directed to board a different plane and the flight apparently wound up leaving only 85 minutes after its original departure time.
