DENVER (CBS4) - A contract driver for the Regional Transportation District faces charges after a deadly accident involving a passenger.
Witnesses say Mario Castro had stepped off the bus at West Colfax Avenue and Mariposa Street on Feb. 7 but was hanging onto the back of the bus for balance. The driver pulled away and Castro fell under the rear wheels and was run over.
Castro later died.
On Tuesday prosecutors charged the driver, Tadese Asefaw, with careless driving resulting in death.
