Embezzlement Victims Not Happy With 'Scoop' Daniel's Plea Deal
BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (CBS4) - Some victims of the Breckenridge lawyer who disappeared with their money say they're not happy with his plea deal.
CBS4 first reported that Royal "Scoop" Daniel reached the agreement with prosecutors. He's expected to enter a guilty plea Tuesday on two counts of felony theft.
Daniel originally faced 13 charges.
Daniel mysteriously disappeared in 2007. Investigators believe he embezzled more than $500,000 of clients' money that had been intended for real estate transactions. He was arrested when he tried to walk across the border from Mexico late last year.
