Denver-Based Documentary Filmmaker A Big Winner At The Academy Awards

LOS ANGELES (CBS4) - A Denver-based documentary filmmaker was one of the big winners at Sunday night's Academy Awards.

Daniel Jungee took home the Oscar for best documentary feature film, "Saving Face." The film highlights Pakistani women who have survived revenge acid attacks, and the rehabilitation they undergo.

"It's more important that the Pakistani woman on the stage speak instead of me," Jungee told the audience.

"To all the women in Pakistan who are working for change, don't give up on your dreams. This is for you," Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy said.

Jungee celebrated the big win at the Vanity Fair party with Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.
