Bus Driver Cited In Accident That Injured 3 Teens

DENVER (AP) -- The driver of a school bus who hit three teenage girls in a crosswalk Tuesday has been issued a citation for three misdemeanor counts of careless driving causing bodily injury.

The Colorado State Patrol says 43-year-old David Shaw will go before a judge within 30 days.

The accident happened just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday when the bus, which had a green light, turned left onto the street where the girls were in a crosswalk. The State Patrol says the girls had the right of way since they also had a walk sign. Shaw was not injured in the accident. A Jefferson County Public Schools spokeswoman says he remains on paid administrative leave.
