Westminster Man Dies While Skiing At Keystone
FRISCO, Colo. (AP) - The Summit County coroner says a 54-year-old Westminster man died while skiing at Keystone this week.
Coroner Joanne Richardson said Friday that preliminary autopsy results show that Vesslin Vlassev died of a broken neck.
A passing skier saw him on the ground near the Jacques St. James trail, an intermediate run, on Wednesday. The coroner says it appears that he went off the trail and hit the snow surface.
He's the third skier to die at Colorado resorts this week.
Two skiers were killed in separate avalanches on Sunday. One was caught in a small avalanche at Winter Park Resort and a 13-year-old skier died after being trapped in a closed area at Vail Mountain.
