If you’re looking for great jazz music in Denver, you’re in luck. This city’s diverse music scene includes some of the finest jazz you’ll hear anywhere. Whether your taste in jazz is smooth or contemporary, here are some of Denver’s favorite places to enjoy an evening of live jazz music.

Listed by Downbeat Magazine as one of the “World’s 100 Great Jazz Clubs,” Dazzle is also a Denver favorite. This classy Capitol Hill neighborhood bar has two rooms; the front room is a bar and is great for socializing and a separate room for performances. Dazzle features local and traveling acts seven nights a week, accompanied by an American traditional menu and an impressive wine list. Dazle is a great place to relax and spend an evening.

Affectionately called “The Pec” by the locals, El Chapultepec is a slice of Denver history, being the city’s oldest jazz venue. This LoDo hotspot has hosted such greats as Ella Fitzgerald and Tony Bennett over the years and today continues to host some of the hottest local and traveling jazz and blues acts seven nights a week. It also has an open jam session every Monday night. Enjoy some great Mexican fare while you listen, but come early if you want a seat.

Located in the Lower Highlands neighborhood, Vita offers an upscale dining experience with small plates and entrees in a modern American style. On Friday and Saturday evenings, Vita also features a variety of local jazz and blues acts. Make a reservation for dinner, and stay for some great live jazz in an upscale casual atmosphere.

Not only is the Burnsley Hotel one of downtown Denver’s finest boutique hotels, but the locals also know the Burnsley Lounge as one of the finest jazz spots in town. Every Friday and Saturday night, the lounge and piano bar features live smooth jazz in an elegant and romantic atmosphere, making this particular spot a great place to bring a date for the evening.
