Tourism Officials Educate Lawmakers About Importance Of Industry
DENVER (CBS4) - State tourism leaders spent Monday at the Capitol. Their goal was to educate lawmakers about the importance of tourism in Colorado and the benefits it provides to state revenue.
"We estimate that for every family of four, $600 of tax relief happens because of the taxes that are paid by visitors into our state," said Al White, State Tourism Office Director.
The tourism industry says it creates 138,000 jobs in Colorado.
Visitor spending in 2010 totaled more than $14 billion.
