Donald Trump Wins Tebow Memorabilia At Auction For $12,000
PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS4) – When it comes to an autographed jersey and helmet signed by Tim Tebow, what's $12,000 to Donald Trump?
The "Apprentice" star and real-estate mogul did his own take of "Tebowing" over the weekend, winning a signed jersey and helmet from the Broncos quarterback at a live auction at the 30th anniversary of the Susan G. Komen Cure for Breast Cancer gala in Palm Beach, Fla.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Trump jumped into the auction when the Tebow garb came up for bid. Not to be outdone, Trump won a brief, back-and-forth bidding war to win the jersey and helmet with a $12,000 bid.
Whether Trump won the items just as Tebowmania had peaked is unclear to this point. As he won the Tebow gear, the Broncos were getting throttled by the New England Patriots, eventually losing 45-10 on Saturday.
