Boulder Halts Licenses For New Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- City council members in Boulder voted late Tuesday night to approve the moratorium on licenses for new medical marijuana businesses.

The council voted to hold off on accepting or processing new applications until 8 a.m. Feb. 8 so the city can review rules for the medical marijuana industry.

The council has scheduled a public hearing to discuss the future of medical marijuana in the city limits on Feb. 7. The council is considering a longer-term moratorium.

There are 73 medical marijuana licenses dispensaries in Boulder. A dozen others are pending review.
