
WINTER PARK, Colo. (AP) – The Colorado Avalanche Information Center is warning of dangerous conditions in the backcountry after a telemark skier triggered a large avalanche near Winter Park.
Spokesman Scott Toepfer says the skier was partially buried and was rescued by a friend who was skiing with him on Sunday afternoon.

The center says Saturday’s high winds could affect other snow slabs near tree line on easterly slopes.
