High School Track Coach Charged With Sexual Assault On Child

DENVER (CBS4) - Formal charges have been filed against a Denver high school track coach accused of sexually assaulting a child.

Abraham Lincoln High School coach and counselor Oscar Ponce was charged Tuesday with one count of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, and charges of a pattern of abuse.

Prosecutors say Ponce had sexual contact with a student at the school on numerous occasions between December 2010 and May 2011.

Ponce is wanted in connection with another warrant, but when officers went to arrest him last week they couldn't find him.
