Police Searching For Track Coach Charged With Sexual Assault On Child

DENVER (CBS4) - Police in Denver are searching for Oscar Ponce. He posted bond and was released from custody Thursday.

On Thursday afternoon police issued another arrest warrant for Ponce, 34, of sexual assault on a child. Officers so far have not been able to find him.

Anyone with information about Ponce's whereabouts is asked to call police in Denver.

Police arrested Ponce on Tuesday night on charges of sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

Ponce coaches track and is also a full time counselor at Abraham Lincoln High School. He has been placed on leave during the investigation.

The Daily Camera in Boulder reports Ponce was an award-winning distance runner at the University of Colorado in the late 1990s.

Ponce previously coached at Denver's North High School.
