Since it first opened on Broadway in 1957, West Side Story has been considered to possibly be the greatest American musical.

Now it’s coming to Denver in what is expected to be a very popular short run at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

“For one, it’s just a great show, but it’s also got everything in it,” CBS4 Critic at Large Greg Moody said. “There’s the life of the music, there’s the power of the dance, the timelessness of the story and the darker side of the American Dream. This show pretty much has it all.”

West Side Story runs through Jan. 1 at the Buell Theater. Moody says it is going to be very popular, so he suggests that if you are seeking tickets, be flexible in your dates and show times.
