Workers Looking For Jobs After Fire Guts Tire Store

DENVER (CBS4) - Mile High Customz on South Federal Boulevard is boarded up after it caught fire just after midnight Saturday.

Firefighters say the blaze was fueled by rubber tires and at times flames shot more than 20 feet into the sky.

The building is a total loss and several employees are now forced to look for new jobs.

The brother of the shop's owner, Juan Garcia, says the timing of the fire couldn't be worse.

"Especially Christmas, the holidays; obviously they're not going to have a job right now. It's going to be tough. We are going to have to stick together like a family and make everything easier for each other," Garcia said.

No one was hurt in the fire, however a guard dog was killed.
