Fire Shuts Down Chili Verde Restaurant

DENVER (CBS4)- Firefighters in Denver rushed to put out a fire at a popular Mexican restaurant Wednesday morning.

A fire ignited at about 11:20 a.m. inside Chili Verde at 37th and Tejon. Smoke was pouring from the business when firefighters arrived.

Several employees were inside when the fire started. They were able to escape unharmed. No customers were there.

Firefighters said the damage was limited to the kitchen but smoke spread throughout the restaurant.

Chili Verde will remain closed for a while because of the fire and smoke damage.
