Outlet Malls See Huge Crowds On Black Friday

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (CBS4) - The outlet malls in Silverthorne saw huge crowds on Black Friday.

It was nearly impossible to find a parking spot at the Silverthone outlets, and crowds packed stores from right after dinner Thursday night through the weekend.

"Last night we were pretty busy from like 9 a.m. to midnight," GoLite manager Todd McKean said.

GoLite was one of the few stores at the outlets that actually closed overnight but reopened to even more shoppers.

"Kind of crowded, one of our better days in a while," McKean said.

It seemed like an out of the way shopping destination, but CBS4 found Marshall Montoya from Denver with almost too many bags to carry.

"We came to do some skiing, celebrate the holiday and do a little shopping," Montoya said. "Black Friday deals are fantastic. We got out of most stores for under $10 and I've almost got all my Christmas shopping done."

Some store managers said they were surprised that the deals trumped the weather and the shoppers still turned up.
