Broncos Fans Should Arrive Early Thursday For Military Salute

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Broncos fans who attend Thursday's game against the New York Jets Thursday evening will be treated to a military salute before kickoff.

The Broncos encourage all fans to arrive early and be in their seats by 6 p.m. for the salute.

"The team will honor the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Wounded Warriors and Military Order of the Purple Heart on the field with game balls from former Broncos players Billy Thompson, Randy Gradishar and Simon Fletcher," Broncos Media Services Manager Rebecca Villanueva said in a statement. "Three members of the Tuskegee Airmen will be honored in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Tuskegee Airmen."

Navy Seal Jon Cummings will serve as an honorary game captain and join the team captains for the coin toss.

Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Salvatore Guinta will also be recognized before the game.

"Dave Roever will be recognized as the Broncos Country Hero of the game during the first timeout. Roever was a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War when he was injured by a grenade," Villanueva said.

All active and veteran members of the military get free admission to the Broncos Barn with game tickets and military identification.
