Frontier Airlines Could Soon Be Up For Sale Again

DENVER (CBS4) - Frontier Airlines could soon be up for sale again. Its parent company, Republic Airways, is considering spinning off Frontier from the rest of its business.

Republic bought a bankrupt Frontier about two years ago. It's been cutting costs trying to make it profitable again.

CBS4's partners at the Denver Business Journal explained one of the most plausible options.

"They could just spin Frontier off as its own unique company rather than having Frontier a subsidiary of Republic; break it off on its own, let its shareholders get a crack at that new company and therefore put it out there on the public market on its own," Ed Sealover with the Denver Business Journal said.

Until a deal is reached, Republic says it will continue its efforts to make Frontier a profitable airline.
