2nd Child Dies After Rescue From Burning Aurora House
AURORA, Colo. (AP) - The second child who was trapped in a burning house in Aurora over the weekend has died.
Police say 2-year-old Alivia Ramirez died around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Her 3-year-old brother, Timothy Joseph Ramirez, died at a hospital after he was pulled from the burning home Sunday.
When police arrived at the scene around 5 a.m. Sunday, a woman outside the house told them two children were trapped inside. Officers had to remove iron security bars over the windows to reach the siblings.
Three officers were treated for smoke inhalation and exposure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
