Travis Forbes Revealed Clues During Police Interrogation In Texas

DENVER (CBS4) - Video of a confessed killer tells a different story weeks before his arrest.

A Denver detective caught up with Travis Forbes in Texas when he was being held for stealing a car. Forbes was the last person seen with 19-year-old Kenia Monge before her murder. Police wanted to learn more about the connection.

At that time Monge's body was still missing and police wanted Forbes to tell them what he knew. Forbes told them he had sex with several woman in his van, but was worried police found something to connect him to Monge.

"And now my girlfriend is saying that I wasn't with her afterwards, and there's hair with root in the back of my van, that's not good, that's, that's, that's incriminating," Forbes said.

Forbes confessed last month to killing Monge after having sex with her in his van and then burying her body in Weld County. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Forbes is due in court next week for another crime. He'll be sentenced to 48 years for the attempted murder of a woman in Fort Collins who jumped from her burning apartment after he set a fire last July.
