13 Samples Test Positive For Listeria At Jensen Farms
HOLLY, Colo. (CBS4) - CBS4 has learned the health department has collected 13 samples that have tested positive for listeria at Jensen Farms in Holly.
Jensen Farms is the cantaloupe farm in southern Colorado at the center of the nationwide deadly listeria outbreak.
It's not clear where the samples came from. Investigators are looking at everything from the water supply to animals that may have strayed onto the farm.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed at least 21 deaths from the illness, including five in Colorado. New York, West Virginia and Indiana are also reporting deaths linked to the outbreak now.
There have been a total of 109 reported cases in just 23 states.
