NREL Hopes Voluntary Buyouts Will Help Trim Workforce
GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - The National Renewable Energy Lab in Golden is hoping voluntary buyouts will help trim its workforce.
NREL blames federal budget forecasts, CBS4 partner the Denver Business Journal reports.
Now, even with the construction of new facilities planned several years ago going on NREL is trying to cut about $8 million.
As many as 150 of its 1,700 workers are expected to take the buyouts.
