Man Wanted In Colorado Captured In Nebraska
NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a check on an abandoned car in eastern Nebraska led authorities to a man wanted in Colorado.
The Nebraska State Patrol says Mark Havens, 24, of Aurora, was arrested on Monday after a trooper investigated an abandoned car near Nebraska City. A license plate check showed the tag was stolen in Colorado. A further check showed two people had been in the car, and the man was wanted on escape and assault charges. The trooper found Havens and a woman at a motel in Nebraska City and arrested them without incident.
Havens is being held in the Otoe County jail pending extradition to Colorado. The woman was cited for possessing a stolen license plate and drug paraphernalia and released.
