Denver's Race For The Cure A Huge Success

DENVER (CBS4) - It's one of the nation's largest 5-Ks. Thousands gathered for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Denver on Sunday.

Participants walked and ran to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

Cancer survivors say they're happy to see people join together to fight for a cure.

"It's a day of celebration. I'm two years cancer free. I have friends that are walking with us," one participant said.

"For me it means health and celebrating life and good doctors and still being here for my family and friends," another said.

The Komen Denver affiliate has invested $28 million in community breast health programs across the state.
