Appeals Court Rules Colorado Ballots Public
DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Court of Appeals has ruled that ballots must be made public as long as they don't identify voters.
The ruling came in a lawsuit by Aspen resident Marilyn Marks, who ran against incumbent Mayor Mick Ireland and lost. The appeals court overturned a district court ruling that ballots are secret.
Secretary of State Scott Gessler says he has been waiting on the court ruling before proceeding with plans to make ballots available for public review.
